a pic from the very first Quest pageant back in 2002,with this years Queen of the Universe, Maria Roman.  She is a really amazing person, so beautiful, and thoughtful and well spoken.  I'm proud to be her friend .
She may have been the first runner up with the Judges that night, but was way ahead on my personal score card, and has been ever since.

Universal Remote...

in time, anyhow, with this post  in late March for a pageant in early November, though its  still very proximate in beauty, with Maria Roman as this years Queen.  I met her at one of my first pageants over 10 years ago.  She's always been one of the most gorgeous and gracious and genuine girls I've ever met, and while she has won other pageants before, winning the ultimate LA pageant now really is a crowning accomplishment for her, that was pretty universally appreciated.

Racing Stripes...

is a cute little  film about a zebra that wants to be a racehorse.  Even though he's fast enough, the other racehorses either mock him or belittle him, and don't accept him because he's different.  In the movies, the plucky little zebra ends up winning the big race and the respect of all the thoroughbreds.  In real life, its never quite the same, but if following your dreams means trying to lead in the race, you have to run the best way you can and not worry about what people say about you.  Especially from behind.
